Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the customary 52-card common deck and a single joker. The gambler is assigned seven cards faces showing and the house receives seven cards face down.
A five card hand and one two card hand have to be put together from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand has to be higher than the two card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be higher than the casino’s.
