Omaha Hi/Low: General Outline

Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha 8 or better) is frequently seen as one of the most difficult but favored poker variations. It’s a variation that, even more than regular Omaha poker, aims for play from all levels of players. This is the main reason why a once obscure game, has grown in popularity so rapidly.
Omaha hi/lo starts like a normal game of Omaha. 4 cards are handed out to each player. A round of wagering ensues in which gamblers can wager, check, or drop out. Three cards are given out, this is called the flop. A further round of betting happens. After all the players have in turn called or dropped out, a further card is flipped on the turn. a further round of betting happens and then the river card is flipped. The players must attempt to make the strongest high and low 5 card hands based on the board and hole cards.
This is where a few entrants often get flustered. Contrasted to Hold’em, where the board can be everyone’s hand, in Omaha hi low the player has to utilize precisely 3 cards on the board, and exactly two hole cards. Not a single card more, no less. Unlike normal Omaha, there are two ways a pot may be won: the "higher hand" or the "low hand."
A high hand is exactly what it sounds like. It is the best hand out of every player’s, whether that is a straight, flush, full house, etc. It is the very same approach in almost every poker game.
A low hand is more complicated, but really opens up the action. When determining a low hand, straights and flushes don’t count. the lowest hand is the weakest hand that can be put together, with the lowest value being made up of A-2-3-4-5. Because straights and flushes do not count, A-2-3-4-5 is the lowest value hand possible. The lower hand is any 5 card hand (unpaired) with an eight and smaller. The low hand wins half of the pot, as does the higher hand. When there’s no lower hand available, the higher hand takes the whole pot.
It may seem complex at the start, following a few rounds you will be agile enough to pick up on the fundamental subtleties of the game simply enough. Since you have people betting for the low and betting for the high, and seeing as such a large number of cards are in play, Omaha 8 or better provides an exciting assortment of betting possibilities and because you have many players shooting for the high hand, and a few battling for the low. If you enjoy a game with a lot of outs and actions, it is worth your time to play Omaha Hi-Lo.
