Amateurs Schemes for Pai Gow Poker

Sunday, March 25th, 2007

Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with ancient ancestry. Founded on the old Chinese tile game and the modern American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the eastern with the west in an excellent game for new players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler vs. the dealer, unlike the majority of other poker games that players play against other players. By wagering against the dealer, beginner players do not need to fret about other, more experienced people winning their money.

One more Pai Gow advantage is the generally leisurely game pace, rookies can take their time and scheme while not having to make hasty decisions.

It’s also easier to wager on for a long time with only a tiny amount of cash since, to not win, both of your hands must be lower than each of the dealer’s hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the normal 52-card basic deck and a single joker. The gambler is dealt 7 cards faces showing and the dealer gets 7 cards face down.

One five card hand and one two card hand need to be put together from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand has to be stronger than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand totals to be better than the casino’s.
